At a masterplan and strategic site level, noise and vibration influence how whole communities are developed to preserve healthy environments. We invest in technology and software to enhance our clients¡¯ understanding of the designed environment, allowing them to hear the effect of a variety of material choices on noise transferring from outside to inside, or from one room to another room. Through digital environmental acoustic modelling, we accurately predict sound propagation from a variety of sound sources including road, rail, aircraft, industrial processes and commercial activities in an environmental setting.
At all stages of a project, we focus on creating places for people to thrive, and spaces to relax, while mitigating the impact of noise from ongoing construction as each phase of a development emerges.

Our approach to environmental noise monitoring focuses on community engagement, enabling environmental compliance, and minimising restrictions on activities. Our remote real-time monitoring programmes make sure that appropriate levels of noise are maintained and recorded for regulatory and compliance purposes. We¡¯re dedicated to providing practical advice and support to manage noise from operational activities such as construction work, transport infrastructure, industrial plants, and complex environments like hospitals.Spaces that transform experiences
With people spending almost all their time indoors, quality interior environments matter. We design and improve performance within buildings, getting the balance right within spaces, providing sound isolation, and managing reverberation and speech intelligibility. We also make sure the egress of noise from a space does not adversely affect neighbouring buildings and communities¡ªultimately minimising expensive retrofitting programmes.Supporting concept design and planning
At a site masterplanning level, our early input into layout informs the appropriate positioning of different aspects of a development according to levels of noise. This soundscape approach to design creates different environments to support community wellbeing. Our baseline noise surveys and ongoing monitoring support environmental impact assessments and planning submissions.
