A major solar energy project near Selby is one step closer to delivery, having gained development consent
The Helios Renewable Energy Project DCO application has been granted development consent by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.?The solar scheme will be one of the largest in the?UK,?and?will provide?more than 50MW of low carbon energy into the grid.? ?
厂迟补苍迟别肠’蝉?Community Development?teams?have been deeply involved in this major solar scheme?near Selby?since its beginning.?The firm?has?been?supporting Enso Energy with a range of planning and environmental services, from?the project’s?inception?to?the?submission and examination?of the application.
Granted on 3rd?December?2025,?this consent?allows for the installation of ground-mounted solar arrays and energy storage infrastructure, supporting the generation of?low carbon power.?

Once?complete, the development will include a battery energy storage scheme, connecting to the grid via underground cable at?a nearby?power station.?
The scheme serves as?an?important project in delivering the UK government’s??targets and supporting the UK’s transition to?low-carbon?power.
