Teknion Chicago Showroom
Looking to join the industry shift of locating office furniture showrooms to Chicago¡¯s Fulton Market neighborhood, Teknion chose a 17,000-square-foot space¡ªwith great views, ample light, and an outdoor veranda for after-hour events¡ªin the new 800 Fulton building. To help Teknion realize their vision, we served as a design partner and architect of record along with VanDerByl Design.
Teknion¡¯s new showroom provides ample space to present their furniture and architectural wall products, with a rotating collection of new products featured in the center. We selected high-end millwork details and audio-visual equipment and led the design and recommendation for using a raised floor system¡ªthe floor and related electrical and datacom cable infrastructure increase flexibility for presentation and reduce annual labor costs from frequent product and display changes. Our teams also designed a presentation area for Teknion clients, industry groups, and design students with a servery for food and refreshments. Two adjacent showroom spaces, independent of the Teknion brand, feature the unique design language of a specialty furniture product and an upholstery fabric manufacturer.
Working together with the client and contractors under a schedule, we delivered the showroom ahead of time for important trade shows.?
