Andy is a chartered civil engineer with more than a decade of experience in mining and large civil projects. He’s worked with contractors and design consultants in the US, UK, Mozambique, Tanzania, South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, and Zambia. Part of our UK Waterpower and Dams team, he’s keenly interested in computational geomechanics and reliability-based design.
As a geotechnical lead, Andy leads the design and coordinates inputs for projects. He frequently uses finite element analysis to find solutions for soil and rock mechanics problems. While he currently focuses on dam and hydropower projects, he also has experience with underground and above-ground hydropower stations, earth and rockfill embankment dams, caverns, tunnels, and aqueducts.
Away from his geotechnical engineering work, Andrew enjoys surfing, playing guitar, and being a father.
