With a passion for problem-solving and social interactions, Sophia has worked on a variety of wastewater treatment plants and enjoys hydraulic and pump modeling. Still early in her engineering career, she tries to touch as many projects and tasks as possible to grow her knowledge base. She has worked on technical memos, hydraulic calculations, pump calculations, specifications, project management tasks, odor control calculations, and more.
Currently, Sophia is working on the hydraulics, headworks, and odor control team for the International Boundary and Water Commission and as an assistant project manager for the Tempe Well 4 project. Additionally, she’s serving as the vice chair for AZ Water’s Young Professionals Committee and will be the new chair at AZ Water Conference 2025.
Away from professional pursuits, Sophia’s interests include hanging out with cat daughter Mochi, cooking Asian and Italian food, leisurely outdoor walks, catching up with friends over dinner, and attending concerts.
