Since she was a child, Mayra always found herself inclined toward science and solving problems. So, she set out to pursue engineering studies.
Over the past 20 years as a geological engineer, Mayra has developed conceptual and numerical hydrogeological models for mining projects in Peru, Argentina, Colombia, Chile and Australia. She also has experience developing pit pore pressure models, depressurization scenarios, and slope stability recommendations for different pits.
As a senior hydrogeologist, Mayra is responsible for the technical leadership of our Water Management group’s Peru Hydrogeology team. She supports the team in the development of projects in this area, from understanding the scope to developing conceptual hydrogeological studies and numerical models to apply in the different fields related to hydrogeology in mining.
Away from hydrogeology and mining efforts, Mayra enjoys spending time with her three children, traveling, and rediscovering her love of knitting.
