Betsy Kirtland

Associate, Structural Engineer

Photo of Betsy

Since discovering structural engineering as a student, Betsy has been driven by the idea of turning complex ideas into structures that communities rely on every day. She believes that engineers are stewards of the built environment, with a responsibility to design infrastructure that is safe, resilient, and meaningfully improves how people move through their communities.

A structural engineer, Betsy focuses on creating transportation systems that are both durable and thoughtfully integrated into their surroundings. Her project experience includes a range of bridges and transportation work across Massachusetts, including the Twin Cities Rail Trail in Fitchburg and Leominster.

Outside of her project work, Betsy is deeply committed to service and mentorship. She serves as one of two co-directors of Fleur de Lis Circle Week, a summer camp for children who have experienced the loss of a parent. She helps guide programming, counselors, and campers through a supportive and impactful week each summer.
