Katherine’s work bridges two urgent challenges in infrastructure design—mitigating impacts of development and greenhouse gas emissions (sustainability) and adapting to increasing climate change threats (resilience). She integrates these principles into detailed design projects in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Working on both public and private infrastructure projects, Katherine has been involved with resilience design projects for waterfront development and critical facilities. She has also worked on green infrastructure design and embodied carbon reduction plans and has developed resilient design guidelines for climate adaptation. Some of the notable projects she’s worked on include the Battery coastal resilience project, Metropolitan Hospital flood wall, and Honolulu climate change design guidelines.
When she isn’t helping protect the environment, Katherine enjoys playing sudoku and going on walks along the Hudson River waterfront to take in the New York City skyline.
