Based in Queenstown, Lachlan spends most of his time working on recreational infrastructure that improves public access to New Zealand’s natural landscapes. This infrastructure includes pedestrian and cycleway bridges, viewing platforms, wharves and jetties, alpine infrastructure, and backcountry huts.
Lachlan strives to create designs that are pragmatic and resilient, balancing industry best practices with creative problem-solving. He's developed a strong reputation for designing structures in remote environments where constructability is critical. He enjoys the variety of his work, from travelling to remote locations by helicopter to inspecting wharves from an iconic century-old steamship. His projects take him to some of the country’s most challenging and spectacular locations.
Outside of work, Lachlan is a proud Queenstown local who spends his free time skiing, mountain biking, bikepacking, and hiking.
