Stantec, Tetra Tech, APTIM joint venture selected for U.S. Navy CLEAN program

The team will provide environmental technical and engineering services

Stantec, a global leader in sustainable design and engineering, in partnership with and , has been awarded an eight-year single award task order contract by the Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Southwest. Project work under this contract is expected to reach the full capacity of US$240 million.

Under the joint venture (JV) Triquetra III, the team will support the U.S. Navy¡¯s Comprehensive Long-Term Environmental Action Navy (CLEAN) program¡ªperforming studies to identify, delineate, and design remedial alternatives for some of the most complex environmental issues the Navy is facing.

Aligned focus on environmental solutions
The CLEAN program addresses critical environmental issues, such as PFAS contamination and other hazardous substances, on military bases. The JV team will proactively identify and address potential environmental and health impacts. This includes the delivery of preliminary assessments, site inspections, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, pilot studies, and remedial design.

Projects under this contract will take place primarily on Navy and Marine Corps installations in California, Nevada, and Arizona. Other project locations can include Washington, Hawaii, and other Pacific installations.

Building on a legacy of federal collaboration and innovation
This contract adds to ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½¡¯s portfolio of work with the U.S. Navy and NAVFAC. This award follows a similar five-year contract under which ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½ helped develop the Navy¡¯s enterprise decision-support system for encroachment management. In 2021, the firm was awarded a to support the planning, design, construction, and renovation of large waterfront projects in NAVFAC¡¯s Mid-Atlantic region.

Gilkey added that this joint venture brings together three of the industry¡¯s leading environmental engineering firms, leveraging their collective ²ÝÝ®´«Ã½, resources, and global capabilities with a proven track record of performance on NAVFAC Southwest¡¯s Environmental Restoration Program.
